Consulting services
We provide a variety of consulting services to our litigation clients. We also offer software design and development services to both our law firm and our general business clients.
Here are a few of the things that we do quite frequently.
Best practices development
In the 1990’s when Magellan’s Law began promoting the application of ‘best practices’ to litigation, we got a lot of resistance. Attorneys told us “every case is different and standard procedures can’t be applied”, or “we’ve been getting along just fine without them.”
We never hear that anymore.
Litigation data analysis
It's pretty common these days to build a database of all the documents in your litigation -- emails, reports, contracts, spreadsheets, word processing documents -- everything.
Some materials, however aren't very useful as documents, and putting them in a document database won't buy you much.
But there are alternatives.
Custom software development
We develop software for Windows computers, Macs, and iPads.
Of course, the best example of our development work is the qd documents ™ software that we sell as a commercial product, but we've done a lot of other things as well. Over the years, we've developed custom applications for pharmaceutical companies, public utilities, non-profits, manufacturers, a school district -- even an art gallery.
Project structure
Right at the beginning, we'll help you to define a clear plan for the project.
Where a project is clearly defined, we can often quote a fee upfront that's based on the project definition. For fuzzier projects, we can work on a time-and-materials basis. In either case, we'll work with you to develop project goals that best fit your needs and your budget.
